United Church of Christ
United in Spirit and inspired by God’s grace, we welcome all, love all, and seek justice for all.
The Minnesota Conference United Church of Christ (UCC) equips a courageous Church alive with Christ’s transforming love.
Bob joined the Conference staff in fall 2017. In his position, he has the privilege of working with churches and individuals who are passionate about the ministries of the Minnesota Conference and encouraging their generosity in support of the work we do together.
Previously, he as executive director of Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival, the nation’s premier faith-based music camp for high school students. Other career highlights include working as a nonprofit banker and as executive director of COMPAS, a community arts organization.
Bob is inspired by the people of the UCC— clergy, church members, or professional colleagues who are passionate about ministry that is brave and transformative.
Outside of work, Bob is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as an authority on ice palace history! Music is a vital part of his life. He sings in the Falcon Heights Church choir, gives private music lessons, and is a member of the Twin Cities Horn Club, the largest French horn ensemble in the galaxy.
Bob grew up in West St. Paul and attended St. Olaf College where he met his wife of 45 years, Margot Olsen. They live in Falcon Heights (across the street from the church!) with their two dogs, Mayer and Mairi.
