Take a break from the chaos and stress of daily life, and unplug into adventure! This weekend-long getaway will be full of fun, laughter, meaningful connections, and new experiences….all without compromising on style! Each day will bring a different kind of adventure – hiking and paddling on the South Shore of Lake Superior. Each evening you’ll enjoy gourmet foods and beverages around the fire before falling asleep in a real bed to the sound of the waves on The Lake. You’ll go home feeling refreshed, with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
On the first day, you meet your guides, get settled in, and have time to unwind on our large sandy beach on Lake Superior. There will be a hike in a nearby state park and, if conditions are safe, we will paddle to the Apostle Islands in a 35’ Montreal Canoe. As a backup option, we can always paddle regular canoes on a nearby scenic riverway. Each evening we’ll gather for a truly gourmet dinner prepared over a fire before diving into a meaningful community conversation about life and faith.
Where are we staying?
Amnicon’s seasonal retreat facility, called “Adizokan Village,” is tucked back in the woods, at the top of a hill on the South Shore of Lake Superior, just 30 minutes outside Duluth. It offers real beds in sturdy canvas wall-tents that are built up on wood platforms. With easy access to the lake and the river, accommodations are rustic yet comfortable.
