At its 2019 Annual Meeting, the Minnesota Conference voted to begin a process of reparations with approval of a resolution. The newly formed Amos Task Force has stepped into this work, choosing two Indigenous organizations for reparations funding.
We are excited to invite faith formation leaders—clergy, lay staff, and volunteers—from around the Minnesota Conference to gather via Zoom on most second and fourth Thursdays this fall from noon to 1:30 pm.
The MN Conference Outdoor Ministry will present a three-part Contemplative Gathering to bring us into a place of mindfulness and peace as we enter a change of seasons, a time of thanksgiving, and a time of reflection and anticipation.
Election season is in full swing. It feels to me as if an election cycle has never been stranger, the rhetoric more heated, or our choices more important. The polarization and divisiveness of our nation is on full display as we watch the back and forth among candidates up and down the ballot, our country’s most difficult and painful issues lightning rods for debate.
God calls the Minnesota Conference UCC to equip a courageous Church alive with Christ’s transforming love. An important aspect of that call is helping churches attract and cultivate clergy with the skills to lead a changing church in a changing world. This can be an especially big challenge in rural areas.
The Minnesota Conference is offering a new Courage to Lead series using an extended, virtual model of gathering together. We have redesigned this experience to meet the new demands of ministry during a pandemic.
In light of increasing COVID numbers in Minnesota and continued uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, the Conference staff will work remotely through at least December 31, 2020.
