Rev. Dr. David B. Lindsey Named Transitional Conference Minister

By unanimous vote, the Minnesota Conference Board of Directors has called the Rev. Dr. David B. Lindsey as the Transitional Conference Minister.

Rev. Lindsey is a UCC minister with more than two decades of experience serving in and on behalf of the United Church of Christ. He has served as a pastor in UCC churches of diverse sizes in California, Minnesota, and Virginia.

In recent years, Rev. Lindsey’s ministry has been as an executive director in interfaith nonprofits in the Washington, D.C. area. He has also chaired various committees in the conferences where he has served, including a Committee on Ministry, a Global Partnerships Team, and a Worship Planning Committee for Annual Meeting.

Rev. Lindsey has attended multiple General Synods, serving as a delegate in 2021. At the most recent General Synod, he sponsored the resolution asking the UCC to declare solitary confinement to be torture. In addition to ministry, Rev. Lindsey enjoys spending time with his wife Carrie Dobmeier, their son Felix, and their two cats. He is also a prolific songwriter and musician.

Rev. Lindsey will begin serving in this role immediately.
