Help us reach our "Friends of the Conference" goal by September 30th!
The "Friends of the Conference" goal for fiscal 2010 is $80,000. To achieve that amount, individual gifts totaling $20,000 are needed between now and September 30. Will you help?
As you consider making a contribution, think of it as making possible the visits of the Conference ministry staff to local churches, clergy clusters, Pilgrim Point Camp, and special events. Each year the Conference spends an average of $22,260 to make it possible for the Ashley Minister, Associate Conference Ministers, and Conference Minister to:
- travel to anniversaries, installations, and ordinations;
- consult, preach and teach or be a ministry or presence in our 136 local churches;
- offer resources and support at times of pastoral transition; and/or
- witness in various ways to "the tie that binds."
The vast geography of Minnesota means that each month the Associate Conference Ministers spend an average of one full work-week on the road. While that practice has a definite "price tag" - both financially and to the environment - the personal encounters and strengthened relationships it makes possible are (as the ad says) "priceless."
If you are a "Friend of the Conference" and have contributed this year, THANK YOU! If you have not yet given or would like to increase your gift, now is an excellent time to do so. And if you're not sure when you last contributed, contact Alison Bents (alisonb@uccmn.org or 612-871-0359) who can provide that information.
Keep our covenant connections strong by keeping our Conference ministry staff "on the road." Give generously to Friends of the Conference between now and September 30 and help us reach our challenging goal!
